All Educational Board: State Board & Central Board in India

 There're 2 types of Major Educational Board in India :

  1.   Central Boards
  2.   State Boards


All Educational Board have their own Benifits and Features . 

Here we'll see short overview about all these educational Bords as well as full details on individual Bords . 

So , without wasting time , let's start from Central Board . 

Central Board have Schools/College across the country. 

If any one need to transfer school from one State to other state ,this board allow you to transfer.

Major Central Educational Boards: 

Note:  These boards offer 10th & 12th , if you are looking for higher education or University You need to search for that.

 CBSE (Central board of Secondary Education) :

  This is national education board in India & 25 more countries afflicted to it. 

Type : Regular & Private Both .

These types of schools are in CBSE :


  • Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs)
  • Government/Aided schools,
  • Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas,
  • independent schools &
  • Central Tibetan schools





CISCE (Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations):

 This is privately held in India as national level board .

Type : Regular Only , It means You've to take classes regularly .





NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling) :


NIOS BY shri Roshan Kumar Blog

This is a national open/online/freedom board under Government of India and established by  MHRD (Ministry of human resource department) .

Type : Open Schooling , also offers Vocational Courses

State board is conducted by State governments . 
So , you can't take Transfer certificate ( TC) from one board to another however you can change state with SLC/CLC (School leaving certificate/College Leaving certificate) which means " after your final exam result only you can change state " .

State Board have their own Benifits, state government supports in financial ways too .

All board syllabuses are almost same but it may varies according to geographical location . 

Each state has to read books for their historical, geological and language spoken in that State .
